He was predeceased by : his parents, Alvin Yerby and Edith Yerby (Randolph); and his siblings, Tom, Joe, Daniel, Bill Yerby and Jackie Cantrell.

He is survived by : his wife Nellie Yerby (Miller); his children, Terrence Yerby and Nellie Jane Short (Robert); his grandchildren, Daniel Short, Matthew Short, Adam Short, Sinjun Yerby and Kaileen Yerby; and his great grandchildren, Zachery Short and Tyler Short. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
