He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Ashley and Gertie Ashley; his former wife Bonnie Jean Ashley (Howell) of Amity; and his siblings-in-law, J. T. Redden, Kenneth Thornton, Junior Carpenter and Freda Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Mitchell Ashley; his sons, Justin Ashley of Hartselle and Joseph Ashley (Johanna) of Huntsville; his grandchildren, Madison Wade Huntsville (Brody), Samuel Ashley of Anchorage, Camila Ashley of Huntsville and Elias Ashley of Huntsville; his siblings, Wanda Redden of Mt Pine, Billy Ashley (Carolyn) of Benton and Bettie Ashley of Glenwood; and his sisters-in-law, Floy Mae Thornton of Glenwood, Teresa Phillips of Decatur and Peggy Griffith (Maurice) of Somerville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Peck Funeral Home (1600 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
