He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcom Marvin Barnes and Prunie Ethel Barnes; his wife Thelma Graber Barnes; his children, David Barnes and Catherine Gullion; and his grandson Anthony Taylor.
He is survived by: his children, James Barnes, Dennis Barnes (Paula), Sandra Taylor and Vickey Locke (John).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Peck Funeral Home (1600 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Burningtree Memorial Gardens (4919 Marsha Ave, Decatur, AL 35603).
