He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Ann Herbert; his stepson Michael Harrington; his parents, Clinton H. Herbert and Lillian Effie Means Herbert; and his siblings, Jack Herbert, Francis O'Brien, Willie "Tootsie" Cash, Carlton "Kaiser" Herbert, Ann Williams, Reggie Herbert, Tommy Herbert, Gayle Herbert, Billie Herbert and R. W. "Chuck" Herbert.
He is survived by: his children, Robert D. Herbert and Cindy Herbert Yarbrough (Brian); his stepdaughter Kathy Baker (Wayne); and his grandchildren, Katherine Herbert, Nikki Nickerson (Eric), Kelsey Jeffreys (Bobby), Brylee Yarbrough, Crystal Morgan, Dusty Boatright, Jonathan Smith, Matthew Harrington, Mark Harrington and Corey Harrington. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Roselawn Funeral Home (741 Danville Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35601). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
