He was predeceased by: his parents, Stell Heard and Lanie Heard; his wife Elvira; his daughter Christine; his son-in-law Tony Simpson; and his siblings, Myrtis, Arthur, Arnton, Daisy, Jean, George, Albert and Ruby.
He is survived by: his children, Oliver Heard (Sandra), Janiece Simpson, Michele Tolbert (Kevin) and Amy Heard; and his grandchildren, Jason Heard, Charlee Moore (Jake), Nick Heard, Samantha Duke (Eric), Stephanie Chandler (Keith), Sammie Griffin (Michael), Stevie Griffin (Christi), Christie Eng (Chris) and Leslie.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Shelton Funeral Home Chapel (2105 Beltline Rd SW, Decatur, AL 35601).
