He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Frank Rhea, Sr. and Frances Uithoven Rhea; his wife Ann Purdon Rhea; and his sister Sarah Vickers. He is survived by: his children, Chris Rhea and Leigh Ann Rhea (Brian West); and his grandchildren, Christopher Rhea (Anna), Ashley Rhea, Spencer Rhea and Kai West.
