He is survived by: his father Sherman Payne; his wife Joyce; his children, Bruce Payne (Tammy), Byron Payne (Stephanie), Stephen Thorne (Barbara), Kristie Raines and Karen Holt (Frankie); and his grandchildren, Bruce Payne, Brock Payne, Zack Alred, Chris Roberts, Frankie Holt and Douglas Brown.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Peck Funeral Home (1600 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Fayette Memorial Gardens.
