He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Edward Ruf and Patsy Vining Ruf. He is survived by: his brother Justin Ruf; his sister-in-law Karla; and his nephews, Jaden Ruf and Jonas Ruf. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Jason's memory to Volunteers of America in Hartselle, Alabama.
