He was predeceased by: his parents, Robie Newt Slaten and Eva Grace Hardin Slaten; and his brothers, Edwin Joel Slaten and Dwight Ernest Slaten. He is survived by: his wife June Patton Slaten; his children, Byron Slaten (Kim), Jason Slaten (Mendy) and Leesha Slaten Jones (Durwin); and his grandchildren, Adam Slaten (Danielle), Cristie Lott (Ray), Elizabeth Holladay (Victoria), Brandy Widner (Chris), Leslie Brewer (Jeremy), Sophie Slaten and Abhi Slaten. He is also survived by Ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Peck Funeral Home (1600 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Peck Funeral Home Chapel (1600 Hwy 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640).
