He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Schrimsher and Eloise Schrimsher; his brother Jeff Schrimsher; and his stepfather Tom Thorne. He is survived by: his children, Adam Schrimsher (A. J. James) and Amanda Brown (Cody); his sister Gayle Root Sheila (Mike); and his grandchildren, Cody Brown, Cole Brown, Kade Brown, Patrick Lovell, Bill Lishman and Mike Root.
