He is survived by: his wife Deborah Durden Strickland; his children, Carrie Rowe Marler, Stacy Lane Drake, Ashley Paige Wood and Dr. Matthew Peyton Strickland; his grandchildren, Brantley Madison Drake, Jackson Michael Drake, Hayden Pierce Marler, Joseph McVay Marler, Carter Steven Wood and William James Wood; and his siblings, Susie McKee, Jenny Cunningham and Joey Strickland.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Hartselle City Cemetery (1100 Railroad St NW, Hartselle, AL 35640).
