He was predeceased by: his parents, James McKenzie and Jewel Anderson McKenzie Spelce; and his brother James McKenzie Jr.. He is survived by: his sister Tana Lane (Harvey); and his nephews, Bucky (Lauren), Drew (Rachael) and Matt (Tiffany). He is also survived by seven grand-nieces and nephews.
