He was predeceased by: his father James Woodrow Thomas; his sister Carolyn Deloris Thomas; and his sister-in-law Debbie Lynn Thomas. He is survived by: his mother Millie Corrine Thomas; his wife Melody Carol Thomas; his children, Donald Wayne Holladay (Nachole), Dana Jean Thomas Mayo (James Smith) and Cristy Lynn Thomas (David Matthews); his grandchildren, Phillip Wayne Holladay, Owen Patrick Holladay, Tommy Dale Mayo, James Ray Thomas, James Aaron Smith and Jasmine Nachole Harmon; and his siblings, James David Thomas and Gloriett Ann Bearden. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville (2411 Memorial Pkwy NW, Huntsville, AL 35810). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at the Huntsville Memory Gardens (6810 University Drive NW, Hwy 72 W, Huntsville, AL 35806).
In lieu of flowers and plants the family is requesting rose bushes.
