He was predeceased by: his parents, John Amos Burkett and Jennie Ve Vice Burkett; his wife Lucy Faye Lisenby Burkett; his siblings, Mary Louise Burkett, Lawanna Cheshire and Durwood Lamar Burkett; and his great grandchild Mason James "M. J." Liles.
He is survived by: his son Kenneth Mitchell Burkett (Rose Mary); his siblings, Carolyn Miller, Georgia, Dianne McNeill (Joel) of Webb, AL, Larry Burkett and Leon Burkett; his brother-in-law Jim Cheshire; his grandchildren, Amelia Faye Burkett (Shay Zellers), Jesse Burkett (Mary), Dale Burkett and Audrey Burkett; and his great grandchildren, Rayleigh Burkett, Kynslie McCall, Lucy Jayde Zellers, Adeline Burkett, Lucas Burkett, Shiloh Burkett, Makenna Burkett, Landyn Petty and Ryder Smith.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel (305 Main St, Headland, AL 36345). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Camp Springs Baptist Church (13205 Co Rd 53, Columbia, AL 36319). A burial was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Camp Springs Baptist Cemetery (13205 Co Rd 53, Columbia, AL 36319).
