He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Motherway (Moylan) and Denis Motherway; and his siblings, Denis, William, Joseph Motherway, Mary Beverly and Francis Carbone.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Motherway; his sons, Sean Motherway (Geri) of Saukville and Patrick Motherway (Kara) of Evanston, Illinois; and his siblings, Jim, John, Martin, Patrick Motherway, Betty Quinn and Maureen Manzo.
