He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Eloise Ivey Wootten; his parents, Thomas McDonald "Mack" and Ada Ruth Childress Wootten; and his siblings, Elder Gerald Edward Wootten and Donna Ruth Durdin.
He is survived by: his sons, Wayne Wootten (Cynthia) and Shane Wootten (Donna); his grandchildren, Andrew Wootten and Anna Oliver (Hank); his sisters, Brenda Carroll and Carolyn Bullock (Johnny); and his sister-in-law Betty Wootten. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
