James leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. James’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew James will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Sexton Waters and Ruby Haynes Waters; and his grandson Luke Wade Waters. He is survived by: his wife Joann; his children, Angela and Eric (Adria); his grandchildren, Kira, Erica (Naomi) and Abbey; and his great grandchild Proxi. He is also survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Crestwood Funeral Home (2209 E Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35903).
