It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Carolyn Smith of Hokes Bluff, Alabama, who passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John Henry Lankford and Zora Allred Lankford; her husband Ossie Lee Smith; her grandson Daniel Smith; and her brothers, Junior Lankford, Bobby Lankford and Johnny Lankford.

She is survived by : her children, Dennis Smith (Pam), Richard Smith (Kathy) and Johnna Blair; her grandchildren, Janene Smith, Martin Smith, Sean Smith, Brittany Higgins, Madison Harris (Zach), Trent Blair (Autie), Carolyn Blair, Allison Austin (Heath) and Savannah Walraven; her great grandchildren, Easton Prater, Ossie Austin, Tripp Harris, Emma Claire Higgins, Jack Blair, Hunter, Dawson and Maeleigh Towe; and also, Junior, Amy Towe and Johnnie Beck (Buddy).
