In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Joe had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Joe may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxine Finkel and Leo Finkel (Joe); his sister Reva Ann Finkel Klein; and his stepmother Ellen Juanita Finkel. He is survived by: his wife Grace Finkel (Carmichael); his children, Anna and Robert; and his granddaughters, Annie and Maggie. He is also survived by extended family and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of America, honoring Joe's lifelong commitment to youth leadership and community service.
