She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas A. Mathews; her son Bruce A. Mathews; her parents, Woodrow Kennedy and Nora Kennedy; and her sister Donnie K. Rodgers.

She is survived by: her brothers-in-law, Donnie Mathews, Dale Mathews (Brenda), Larry Mathews (Joann) and Herman Rodgers; and her caregivers, Arzell, Debra, Stephanie, Martha, Gwen, Jeanette and Jerry. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
