He was predeceased by: his parents, James Monroe and Jean Helen Savage; his sister Donna Savage; and his pet Sugar. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, Meredith Brim (Andrew) and Brian Savage (Ivy); his stepchildren, Laura Thorpe and Rob Thorpe (Clara Wyatt); and his grandchildren, Landon, Mason, Lexie, Jace, Charlotte, Laken and Emily.

Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shelby County Humane Society.
