He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Wilson (Mike) of Park City, Brenda Johnson (Frantz) of Hoover and Becky Lucas (William) of Alabaster, Alabama; his grandchildren, Marsha Butler (Nick) of High Springs, Amanda Smith (Justin) of Birmingham, April Kitchings (Blake) of Hoover, Adam Johnson (Lindsay) of Hoover, Austin Lucas (Erika) of Alabaster and Trent Lucas (Katy) of Homewood; his great grandchildren, Cameron Kitchings of Hoover, Troy, Eli Butler of High Springs, Eliana Butler of High Springs, Gemma Lucas, Greyson Lucas of Alabaster, Perry, Neely Lucas of Homewood, John William Smith of Birmingham and Aaron Johnson of Hoover; and his brother Henry Thies of Hoover.
