He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy Rebecca Burks and Lydia Carroll Martin (Jon Larry); his grandchildren, Tracie Torbert (Chris), Jason Burks, Heather Shimel (Keith) and Jon Nichols Martin; and his great grandchildren, Austin Adams, Alexie Adams, Christina Torbert, Ross Torbert, Burke Torbert and Phillip Torbert.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home (2214 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115-8632).
