She was predeceased by: her parents, David Tate Pace and Elora Craze Pace; and her husband Jerry H. Gilmore. She is survived by: her sons, James W. Steele, Jr. (Jamie) and Michael Brett Steele (Heather); her grandchildren, Caroline S. Maze (Chase), Anna Grace S. Fitts (Richard), Charles T. (Charlie) and William Lucas Steele (Ella); her great grandchild Avery Stuart Maze; her siblings, Peggy Ruth P. Summers, Jimmie Francis P. Wilbourn and Richard A. Pace (Angela); her nephews, Jay and Jackson Thomas; and her niece Valerie. She is also survived by neighbors and adopted family.
