We announce the death of Sammie Juanita Vines (Hoover, Alabama), who passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 98. She was predeceased by: her husband Burl Vines; her children, Burl Lee Vines (Buddy), Renay Roper, Sheila Funderburk and Charles Vines (Skip); her granddaughters, Samantha Nelson and Shannon Funderburk; her parents, Victor Mooneyham and Lora Mooneyham; and her sister Ruby McInnis.
She is survived by: her children, Elaine Carpenter (Bill), Dana Yates, Sharlet Lange (Bobby), James Vines (Tad) and Shirley Vines; and her grandchildren, Tammie Simpson (Mike), Jennifer Baron (Michael), Daniel Carpenter (Jayde), Sharon Echols, Rebecca Birchfield, Annette Lambert, Destry Vines (Katie), Michelle Riley (Mark), Jessica Chambers (Robbie), Robert Lange (Dana), Casey Lange, Sasha Short and Alexis Soukup (Peter). She is also survived by 23 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
