He is survived by: his wife Patsy Derrick Self; his brother Roland Weaver Self (Marquita) of Mountain Brook, Alabama; his daughter Meredith Self Brown (Phillip) of Hoover, Alabama; and his grandchildren, William Ethan Brown of Boston and Cameron Alexander Brown of Hoover.
