He was predeceased by: his wife Melba J. Gilbert; his children, Steven Gilbert (Steve) and Brenda Hillman; his parents, Elie Robert and Essie Glass Gilbert; and his siblings, Clarence, Frank, Robert (Bob), Marshall Gilbert (Bill), Evelyn Farley and Dorthy Dickenson (Dot).
He is survived by: his children, Linda Bales (Bart Bales), Rev. Phillip Gilbert (Ann Gilbert) and Robert Gilbert (Bob); his son-in-law John Hillman; his grandchildren, Steven Gilbert (Brittany), Shelley Tomich (Mark), Tyler Hillman (Theresa), Josh Hillman (Melanie), Blake McLendon, Matthew McLendon and Katelyn Turowski (Nick); his great grandchildren, Lucy, Evie, Julie Tumich, Sam Noah, Jake Gilbert, Dalton, Jacob Hillman, Alex, Gracie Hillman, Cailey, Jaxon McLendon and Collins Turowski; and his close friends, JoAnn Ingram and Sherry Barrington.
