He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Elizabeth Selman Thrasher; his parents, Willam Paul Thrasher and Clara Belle Wooley Thrasher; and his brothers, Herbert, James and Ralph.

He is survived by: his sons, Kevin, Kyle and Kerry Thrasher (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Rachel Lightsey (BJ), Brandon Thrasher, Cory Thrasher and Klint Thrasher (Sara). He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
