He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Yearby Willis and Mary Winslett Willis; and his daughter Audra Jean Willis. He is survived by: his wife Murial Cannon Willis; his son Gary Freeman Willis Jr. (Sharon); his stepchildren, Angela Jackson (Shane), Brandi Dale (Rob), Justin Haley (Maegan) and Leah Hearle (Chris); his grandchildren, Aaron Tipton, Abigail Willis White (Blake), Allison Willis, Haley Jackson, Mason Jackson, Summer Dale, Emily Harris (Zach), Alyssa Dale (Ben), Kelsey Haley, Sean Hearle, Alaina Hearle and Emma Hearle; his great grandchildren, Paige White, Liam Harris and Lainey Harris; and his siblings, Pat Troxell, Debra Shepherd, Betty Hogue, Donna Ware and Tim Willis. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Peoples Chapel Funeral Home (195 Brooklane Dr, Bessemer, AL 35023).
