He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Morgan and Arvila Morgan; and his sisters, Margie Lee Harbison, Mary Sue Chaney, Jo Ann Campisi and Linda Gray.
He is survived by: his wife Sara Morgan; his daughter Danna Horne; his grandchildren, Maegan Horne Thim (Andrew), Christopher Ouellette (Ashlon), Morgan Ouellette and Michael Ann Ouellette White (Jess); his great grandchildren, Selah, Ezra and Waylon; and his sisters, Patsy Eddy and Peggy Boone.
His contributions to racing were officially honored in December 2010 when he was inducted into the Alabama Auto Racing Pioneers Hall of Fame.
