She was predeceased by : her husband Donald R. Moore; her son Donald Maurice; her parents, James Carl "Red" Cooley and Clara Mae Walls Cooley; her brother James "Jim" Carl Cooley, Jr.; and her parents-in-law, James Elvis Moore and Mary Louise Moore.

She is survived by : her children, Cathy Moore Mills (David) and Eddie Gillenwater (Linda); her grandchildren, Joey Mills, Carrie Fisher Gilreath (Alan), William Gillenwater (Elizabeth), Daniel Gillenwater (Hanna) and Amy Helms (Vince); and her great grandchild Dylan L. Mills. She is also survived by her family, not just her biological family, but her chosen family.

A reception was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rock Creek Church of God (1001 Park Rd, Bessemer, AL 35023).
