He is survived by: his wife Alexia Hill Michels; his son Alex Smith (Rachel); his grandson Lucas Smith; his sisters, Deborah Michels and Karen Michels; his stepsiblings, Becky Arce (Ricky), Richard Lehman (Rose) and Nicholas Lehman; his great-nephews, Sammy and Eli Cook; his uncle Joe Michels; and his aunt Lois Esler.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Peoples Chapel Funeral Home (195 Brooklane Dr, Hueytown, AL 35023). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Alabama National Cemetery (3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115).
