He was predeceased by: his parents, Clay Thomas and Bessie Dean Thomas; his siblings, Samuel Ellis Thomas and Ruth Thomas Whitt; and his siblings-in-law, Doris Thomas, Paula Thomas and Ralph Whitt.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Bryan Thomas; his brother Earl R. Thomas; his brother-in-law Dale Bryan (Sharon); his children, Stacey Thomas Smith, Bryan G. Thomas (Mutsuko) and Brandon M. Thomas (Melissa); and his grandchildren, Ashleigh Thomas, Lindsey Smith, Rina Thomas, Amanda Smith, Tyler Thomas, Ko Thomas and Haylee Thomas. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in his memory.
