She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Percy Nicholson and Fanny Nicholson; her brother Hugh Nicholson (Elizabeth Switzer); her children, Bill (Cindy Byrd), Bart Byrd (Marte Picker) and Adair Byrd; her stepson James Currie II; her daughter Melinda Byrd Johnson; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Audrey Johnson, Rachel Byrd-McCalpin and Hugh Byrd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Arts Huntsville, a non-profit dedicated to promoting and supporting local artists and arts organizations while helping residents and visitors across the region engage with the arts.
