He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Makowski and Dolores Makowski. He is survived by: his wife Carla Makowski; his sons, David Makowski (Jackie), Robert Makowski and William Makowski (Ashley); his grandchildren, Collin, Landon, Madeline, Jack and Logan; and his siblings, Patricia Makowski and Michael Makowski.

His family suggests memorial gifts to either Aldersgate Church or the American Heart Association.
