He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Gero and Claire Gero; and his siblings, Steve Gero and Laura Vasquez. He is survived by: his wife Linda Gero; his son Darren Gero (April); his grandchildren, Kylie, Kaleb and Kolten Gero; his daughter Nicci Bengtson (Ryan, family: Ethan, Abby, Max Johnson, Holly, Addie Bengtson); his siblings, Debbie Volpe, Susan Bond, John Gero, Mark Gero and Pam Rebman; and his family Greg.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Valhalla Funeral Home (698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL 35811). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Valhalla Memory Gardens (698 Winchester Rd NE, Huntsville, AL 35811).
