It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Melvin Herndon (Huntsville, Alabama), who passed away on May 17, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Melvin Herndon to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his brother Albert; his wife Norma; his son Charles Michael; and his parents, John Henry Herndon and Annie Florence Wilson.
He is survived by: his sisters, Minanelia and Ivadean; and also, Grace, Debbie, Mark and Susan. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (228 Mt Zion Rd, Huntsville, AL 35806). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at the same location.
