She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Whitley and Willie Mae "Jeannie" Conner Whitley; her son Davy Atkins; her sisters, Celia Holder and Marion Whitley; and her nephew Whitley Adam Leonard.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Conner Atkins; her grandchildren, Derek Joseph Atkins (Olivia), Danielle Marie Atkins Bernard (Jay), Devin Lynn Atkins, Robert E. Cummings III (Madison) and Nell Catherine Cummings; her great grandchildren, Penelope James Atkins, Lucas Joseph Bernard, Cecilia Jean Bernard and Robert E. Cummings IV; her sibling's children, Whit Hill (Alan) and John Leonard; her friend Mary Buttram Young; and her pet Winston. She is also survived by cousins, great-nieces.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Holmes Street United Methodist Church (501 Holmes Ave NE, Huntsville, AL 35801). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM and at 3:00 PM.
