With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Garner Singleton in Huntsville, Alabama, born in Memphis, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 2, 2026 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by: his parents, Porter Earl Singleton and Margaret Avalon Garner Singleton; his siblings, Porter E. Singleton, Jr., William Lloyd Singleton, Dorothy Helen Singleton Bonner and Barbara Faye Singleton Waldon; and his significant other Gloria Joy Martin.
He is survived by: his sister Sammie Sue Singleton Gilmer of Olive Branch, Mississippi; his children, Larry G. Singleton, Jr. (Cindy) of Woodstock and Lauri Lynn Singleton Webster (Phil) of Huntsville, Alabama; his grandchildren, Larry G. Singleton, III (Jamie), Alyssa Joy Webster, Nicholas Singleton (Amber), Kimberlyn P. Webster, Elizabeth D. Singleton and Heather S. Webster; and his great grandchildren, Larry Singleton, IV, Westin Singleton, Grayson Singleton and Madilyn Joy Singleton.
At NASA, using only a slide rule and handwritten notes, he co-wrote the NASA Technical Note "Ascent From The Lunar Surface", cementing his contribution to America's Great Space to the Moon.
