With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Edith Thompason of Huntsville, Alabama, born in Boaz, Alabama, who passed away on May 3, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, G. C. Butler and Vera Butler; her husband Dr. Ira Duke Thompson; her children, Mary Hart Thompson Brown and Ira Duke Thompson, Jr.; and her brothers, Ralph N. Butler, Samuel A. Butler and Marvin E. Butler.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lane Thompson Herrington (James Alton, Jr) and Dr. Melinda Thompson; her grandchildren, Blaire Glover Kotsikopoulos (Demetrios Alexandros), Ruth van Pelt Maulden (J. J.), Mary Margaret Brown Lankford (Boyd) and James Cameron Brown; and her great grandchildren, Artistea Kotsikopoulos, Emma Ely, Cyrus Maulden, John Luke Maulden, Mary Harmon Lankford, William Lankford, Henry Lankford and Judson Lankford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
