She was predeceased by: her grandmother Gee-Gee; her parents, Thurston Hanes and Rebecca Hanes; her husband Y. C. "Whit" Whitlock Jr.; her son Y. C. "Butch" Whitlock III; and her brothers, George Hanes and Joe Hanes.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Reiling (Tim) and Charles Whitlock (Phyllis); her siblings, Jerry Hanes, Evelyn Stewart and David Hanes; her grandchildren, Teresa Friend (Michael), Wendi Daversa, Russell Whitlock (Camille), Lauren Whitlock and Ryan Whitlock (Abby); her great grandchildren, Jake, Emmeline, Lily, Cannon, Nolan, Shelby Grace, Russ, Ella, Blair and Georgia; and her great great grandchildren, Dakota and Kayce.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Whitesburg Baptist Church (6806 Whitesburg Dr, Huntsville, AL 35802). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
Memorials in Mildred's name may be made to Whitesburg Baptist Church Missions.
