He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Julie Outzs (Kevin) of Savannah, Georgia and Russell Dillard (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Ava, Denver Outzs, Katie and Andrew Dillard; his brother-in-law George West (Julie); and his sibling's children, Mary Virginia Frist (Chet), Allen West (Emily), Emily Sutherland (Michael), Stan Simmons, Steve Simmons and Wade Simmons (Marjorie).

A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Willowbrook Church (7625 Bailey Cove Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35802).
