He was predeceased by: his parents, James Columbus Whatley and Lucille Holladay Whatley; and his brother John Whatley. He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Whatley of Homewood and Jim Whatley of Auburn; his daughters, Ashley Aston (Michael) of Auburn and Lindsey Whatley of Hampton Cove; and his grandchildren, Henry, George Aston, Mabel, Ruby and Billy Stubblefield. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Cove Church (366 Old 431 Hwy, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Bethel Cemetery (156 Keel Hollow Rd, New Hope, AL 35760).
