It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Annie Amelia James of Jackson, Alabama, who passed away on September 28, 2023, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Amelia (Melia James Jackson) and Deacon Henry James; her siblings, Edward James, Thomas James, Samuel James, John Wesley James (Betty) of Choctaw Bluff, Willie James, Henrilee Rocher, Veatlas Grant and Dorothy James; and her siblings-in-law, Deloise Coleman, Pearlie Mae Jackson, Inge James, Sidney Jackson Jr., Robert Coleman, Clifford James, George James, Lawrence Thomas, John Knight and Willie Grant.
She is survived by: her former spouses, Andrew Jackson Sr. of Rockville and Latonia Michelle Jackson of Montgomery; her spouse Marquice Jackson (Penelope) of Pine Hill; her grandchildren, Lateshia (Zephery), Mary, Dontrell, Cynquavious, Jasmine, Octavia, Tarell, Isiah, Jayln, Dekhyla and Demarion; her sisters-in-law, LeMelia Collins (Mack), Lillian Nettles (Charles), Annie Thomas, Mattie James, Lelia James and Sheila James; her godchildren, William Winston, Nettie Hunt (Lewis), Tishanna Davis, Heather Chase (Sylvester) and LaKeisha Dixon; and her friends, Hanie Davis, Barbara Jackson (Robert), Mildred Bracy and Artherine Boykin. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, cousins and many friends.
