It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Murtis Glenn Barnett of Jackson, Alabama, who passed away on February 25, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ida Megs Glenn and Ned Glenn; her husband John Barnett; her son Richard Calhoun; and her granddaughter Ashley Thompson.
She is survived by: her children, Rosie Tarvin of Whatley, Linda Thompson (Eugene) of Mobile, Carolyn Black of Jackson, Laura Sloan of Tuscaloosa, Wanda Pritchett (Marlon) of Walker Springs, Mavis Barnett (Bobby Pendleton) of Grove Hill, Eddie Sloan of Lakeland, Fla., John Barnett of Grove Hill and Kelvin Barnett of Grove Hill; and her sister Dorothy Hicks of Mobile. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
