We announce the death of Wayne Campbell of Jackson, Alabama, who passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 67. He was predeceased by: his father Jimmie Jackson of Jackson; his stepfather Joe Lewis Mitchell; his brother Dread Campbell; and his grandparents, Daisy Campbell, Cleve and Voncile Jackson.
He is survived by: his mother Hattie Bell Campbell Mitchell of Jackson, Alabama; his children, Sheretta McConico (Jessie) of St. Stephens, Teadra Frazier of Mobile, Thakira Morris of Leroy, LaShundra Crayton of Nashville, Tennessee, Fabian Tucker, Sr. (Kim) of Jackson, Kenile of Jackson, Ayden Campbell of Jackson, Marco Morris of Leroy, Alabama and Merrill Morris of Leroy, Alabama; his siblings, Johnny Campbell of Jackson, Larry Campbell of Jackson, Ray Campbell of Jackson, Ricky Campbell (Doris) of McIntosh, Reco Campbell (Kim) of Mobile, Donna Holly of Jackson, Alabama and Sharon Besteda (Joey) of Jackson, Alabama; his aunts and uncles, Charlotte Moore (Michael), Nancy B. Chapman, Velma Robinson, Cleve Jackson (Minnie) and Anthony James (Toushi); his friends, Derrick Bracy, Pam Barnes and Anthony James; and his close friend Quindera Crayton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Viewing will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Jackson Memorial Funeral Home (203 E Ross St, Jackson, AL 36545). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Mt Olive #2 Baptist Church (303 Griffin St, Jackson, AL 36545).
