It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Cook of Jacksonville, Alabama, who passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Colvin Wayne Fortenberry; her parents, William Donald and Estelle Goddard; and her siblings, Dolores Hudgins and James "Lucky" Goddard.

She is survived by: her sons, Kevin Fortenberry and Shane Fortenberry (Jenny); her grandchildren, Devin Fortenberry (Courtney), Kourtney Johnson (Joseph), Caitlin Fortenberry (Riley Morgan) and Dylan Lahmann; and her great grandchildren, Kensley Fortenberry, PresLee Fortenberry, Olivia Fortenberry and Sutton Mitchell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
