It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Cook of Jacksonville, Alabama, who passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Colvin Wayne Fortenberry; her parents, William Donald and Estelle Goddard; and her siblings, Dolores Hudgins and James "Lucky" Goddard.
She is survived by: her sons, Kevin Fortenberry and Shane Fortenberry (Jenny); her grandchildren, Devin Fortenberry (Courtney), Kourtney Johnson (Joseph), Caitlin Fortenberry (Riley Morgan) and Dylan Lahmann; and her great grandchildren, Kensley Fortenberry, PresLee Fortenberry, Olivia Fortenberry and Sutton Mitchell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Unity Church Cemetery (101 Annie Lou Dr, Jacksonville, AL 36265).
