Howard Eugene Rector Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Howard Eugene Rector of Jasper, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 22, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Rector and Annie Rector; and his siblings, Charlie B., Hoyt, Clyde Rector, Helen Jones and Lavice Collins.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Elna Matthews Rector; his sister Lola Mae Edwards of Vernon; his son Wayne Rector (Monique) of Jasper; his grandchildren, Stephanie Bridges (Tucker) of Birmingham, Lindsay Wise (Connor) of Birmingham and Caroline Kamplain (Justin) of Jasper; and his caregivers, Lisa Thomas and Chantiel Key. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

The family request that donations be made to Walker Area Community Foundation or Jasper's First Baptist Church Building Fund.
