He was predeceased by : his parents, Earskin Decatur and Jeanette Decatur. He is survived by : his wife Wanda Decatur; his children, Gary Decatur (Sanika) and Dana Trayal (Jay); his grandchildren, Malia, Cole, Garriyonna, Gary Jr., Kiley, Jacie Christian and Ashton; his great grandchild Ryder; and his sisters, Darlene Hunt, Joyce Hancock (Steve) and Gail Dockins (Dale). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Collins-Burke Funeral Home (303 Oak Hill Rd, Jasper, AL 35504). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Collins-Burke Chapel (303 Oak Hill Rd, Jasper, AL 35504).
