He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Ellison and Betty Moates; his son Daniel Clay Ellison; his brother Henry Ellison; and his wife Misty Ellison.

He is survived by: his sons, Brandon Ellison (Lacey) and Christopher Ellison (Alex); his grandchildren, Clayton Ellison, Henley Kate Ellison, Mae Henley Ellison and Lucy Ellison; his brother Mark Ellison; and his cousins, John Thomas Ellison and Felicia Hatchett.
